Transparency
I am not someone who claims to know everything. And in the event that I don’t know something, I am not afraid to ask. If something’s not working, let’s work together to make it work. I am, first and foremost, always learning, and that makes for a more collaborative relationship between me, my clients, and my team.
Intentionality
Some people write for the sake of meeting a word minimum. My goal as a writer— and as a creative in general— is to make a product that feels authentic and representative of my talents. Having worked in nonprofits and within grant writing, I understand the critical nature of well-executed writing (even if there’s not a 40,000 grant riding on it). If I’m going to take something on, I am going to do it well.
Collaboration
You know your brand best; graphic designers know what looks best. I might know what sounds best, but finding what works best altogether requires teamwork. I might ride solo as a business, but as a freelancer I am collaboration centric.
Respect
Sure, I am funny, silly, and easy to talk to. That doesn’t mean I am any less professional than someone who comes to the Zoom Room without a smile on their face. Sometimes my hair is pink. Sometimes I laugh a lot. But these things do not define my professionalism and capacity to take your brand, product, or organization seriously.
